||Up to $50,000 per year for 3 years
||1 grant awarded the first & second year of each 3-year cycle.
||3 years (Proposal budgets should be detailed with this in mind).
||The purpose of this grant is to provide funding for high quality clinical registries (multicenter preferred) for pediatric orthopaedic conditions.
||This grant is intended to fund registry projects in pediatric orthopaedics which can have a profound effect on care and represents POSNA’s substantial commitment to registries. There should be an emphasis on collaborative work and potential for expanded research and funding.
||The grant application will be evaluated based on the following criteria: significance, impact, relevance to POSNA mission, originality/innovation, scientific quality of the proposed study, investigator(s) track record, feasibility, and potential for future funding.
POSNA encourages transparency and equal access to registry data by all participating institutions. It is suggested that Data Use Agreements do not restrict participating institutions from access to de-identified data or from publishing on their individual institutional data. It is encouraged that DUAs reflect this philosophy.
||Acceptable funding elements include: Teleconferencing/Meetings (with the collaborating team of investigators to develop the research protocol, study design, outcome measures, recruitment, analysis, etc.), Methodologic/Statistical support or consultation, costs for development of registry database, maintenance of registry, validation of registry.
Funds are not intended for: Institutional indirect costs, purchase of personal computers or equipment and stipends or fees for students or post-doctoral fellows.
||A member of POSNA must serve as the principal investigator.
