FDA Statement
This website includes materials from Continuing Medical Education (CME) events that the content provider has participated in. Some drugs or medical devices demonstrated in CME events may have been cleared by the FDA for specific purposes only, or may have not been cleared by the FDA. The FDA has stated that it is the responsibility of the physician to determine the FDA clearance status of each drug or medical device he or she wishes to use in clinical practice. In accordance with AAOS Position Statement on “Off-Label Use of Medical Products,” off-label use of a drug or medical device may be discussed in CME events so long as the “off-label” use of the drug or medical device is also specifically disclosed (i.e., it must be disclosed that the FDA has not cleared the drug or device for the described purpose). For cleared medical devices, “off-label” means any use that is not included in the cleared “indications for use.” POSNA endorses this AAOS Position Statement and require that content providers apply it to content presented on this website.
