This webinar aims to close the gap in practice knowledge for orthopaedic surgeons in centers with and without established infrastructure and protocols for multidisciplinary management of medically complex patients with cerebral palsy and other neuromuscular disorders who are preparing for surgery. The webinar will focus on pre-operative optimization and include concrete tools for attendees and an opportunity for case discussion, with the potential for future follow-up webinars on intra-operative and post-operative management. Educational goals include increased understanding of the risks associated with surgical intervention, the role of multidisciplinary collaboration, pre-operative assessment including cardiopulmonary, nutritional and psychological assessment, and informed consent and shared decision-making (including patient and family perspectives).

Learning Objectives:
  • Enhance Physicians' Understanding of Financial Planning By the end of the webinar, physicians will have a clearer understanding of the key components of a comprehensive financial plan, including short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals, and the instruments necessary for achieving financial success. This objective aims to bridge the gap in financial literacy and empower physicians to make informed decisions about their financial well-being.
  • Equip Physicians with the Knowledge to Build an Effective Professional Team Attendees will gain insights into the roles and responsibilities of professionals crucial for successful financial planning, such as lawyers, CPAs, insurance advisors, and investment advisors. The objective is to guide physicians in selecting the right team members, fostering effective collaboration, and understanding how each professional contributes to their overall financial success.
  • Empower Physicians to Take Tangible Steps Towards Financial Success By the end of the webinar, physicians will be equipped with practical steps to create and implement their financial plans. This objective focuses on providing actionable insights into budgeting, investment strategies, insurance 2 coverage, legal considerations, and retirement planning. The goal is to empower physicians to proactively manage their finances, reduce stress, and navigate the path to long-term financial success.
