We are excited to announce a new 12-month Pediatric Spine Deformity Fellowship at Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego starting August 1st, 2020. Your time during this fellowship will be dedicated to expanding your knowledge of pediatric spinal deformity. We will focus on teaching surgical and non-surgical management of early onset scoliosis, adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and neuromuscular conditions. The fellows will be exposed to cutting edge posterior spinal instrumentation and fusion techniques as well as anterior open and thoracoscopic surgeries. Your time will be divided between clinics and the operating room to ensure that you develop a full understanding of how to evaluate and manage complex spinal deformities. We will also encourage the fellows to get involved in clinical, basic science or biomechanical research to understand how to ask clinically relevant questions and develop appropriate studies. Fellows will also be expected to take general pediatric orthopedic trauma call to supplement their income and maintain their general surgical skills.
