Mininder Kocher reports on the concept of value assessment within pediatric orthopedics. This publication in JPO resulted from the work of the AAOS Value Project Team .

Mininder Kocher reports in JPO on the concept of value assessment in Pediatric Orthopedics.The AAOS Value Project team demonstrated indirect improvements in productivity and health related quality of life that correlated with a high value assessment for 5 common orthopedic surgcial procedures.  Younger patients showed a higher level of cost-effectivenes due to enduring changes in productitiy.  These extrapolated reuslts suggest pediatric orthopedic surgery has a high value assessment.
