LARSEN, Loren Joseph, M.D. -- LARSEN, June Elmer - Passed away at home, in Santa Rosa, CA, on December 20, 2001, and December 21, 2001, respectively, after lengthy illnesses. Loren was born October 8th, 1914, in Ozone, Idaho. The first in his family to attend college, he was a graduate of Rush Medical School and became a noted orthopedic surgeon. He was Chief Surgeon at Shriners Hospital in San Francisco 1968-1980, concurrent with an appointment to the teaching staff at UCSF, and was Chief Surgeon of Orthopedics at Children's Hospital, San Francisco. He and his wife June were married 59 years. June Elmer Larsen was born January 21st, 1917, to a pioneer Utah family. A beloved wife and mother, she was also a passionate animal welfare advocate. June and Loren are survived by their loving children, Loren Larsen
, Jr. and M. Anne Larsen; and four grandchildren. Private services were held at their home on December 29, 2001.
