Philip D. Alburger, MD
1942 - 2023
We regret to inform you that Dr. Philip D. Alburger, 81, passed away on July 29, 2023, at his home in Gladwyne, PA. Dr. Alburger had been a POSNA member since 1984.
Dr. Alburger served as an Orthopedic Surgeon at Shriners Hospitals for Children, Temple University Hospital, and as Chief of Orthopedics at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.
Dr. Scott Kozin, Chief of Staff at Shriners Hospital Philadelphia, shared, “We will miss his keen sense of humor and his infectious laugh. Phil taught many of us about orthopedics and more importantly about life. His impact on the Shrine will be forever lasting and he joins a list of giants that look down on us every day, ensuring that will take the best possible care of the kids that we treat.”
Dr. Alburger is survived by his wife of 45 years, Therese; two daughters, Carolyn (and Blair) Warsham and Catherine (and David) Christopher; and five grandchildren.
