Dr. Paul P. Griffin, 91, husband of Margaret Braswell Griffin, died Monday, June 4, 2018, in Greenville SC. Born in New Bern, NC, he was a son of the late Jesse Christopher and Bertha Mae Dail Griffin.
A life well lived…
A world renowned orthopedic surgeon, he taught and practiced at numerous teaching institutions including Vanderbilt, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, MUSC, and Greenville Memorial. In his over 50 years of practicing medicine, he touched many lives around the world. He always strove to help others and did so with humor, humility, and compassion. An avid golfer, he was a resident member at Cliffs Valley of Traveler's Rest, SC for many years.
In addition to his loving wife, Paul is survived by two sons, Paul P. Griffin Jr. (Jean) and Charles Christopher Griffin; two daughters, Anne Griffin Shaw (Eric) and Lisa Griffin Schatz (Robert); and five grandchildren, Douglas Schatz, Annie Schatz, Ryan Griffin, Gillian Shaw, and Ashley Dunbar.
