POSNA/ABOS Supracondylar Humerus Fracture Practice Improvement Module (PIM)
POSNA has developed a Supracondylar Humerus Fracture practice improvement module (PIM).
POSNA has developed a Supracondylar Humerus Fracture practice improvement module (PIM) to satisfy one of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) maintenance of certification (MOC) requirements. This PIM has now been approved by the ABOS and is available for use free of charge. If you are interested in using the PIM, you may access it through the ABOS website.
Participants in this module will enter information on 10 consecutive patients that were treated for supracondylar humerus fractures. Participants will then be provided data comparing their treatment and outcomes with that of other participants. After reviewing the results and comparison with other orthopedic surgeons, participants will be asked to develop an action plan to improve patient care.
ABOS MOC is divided into four parts. Part II is lifelong learning and self assessment. Twenty self assessment credits are required in Part II for each three-year cycle. The POSNA PIM has been approved for 20 self assessment credits and will meet this requirement. The PIM can be used in place of a scored and recorded self assessment exam. This PIM has not been approved for ACCME CME credit and will not meet the requirements of organizations outside of the ABOS that require ACCME certification of education activities.
If you have any questions about the use of the POSNA supracondylar humerus fracture PIM or ABOS MOC, you may contact Mona Saniei at the ABOS office.
