The members of the organization generate, develop, and promote programs that directly benefit the members. The organization has created a cohesive and cooperative fellowship of pediatric orthopaedic surgeons and allied health professionals who collaborate and support each other. POSNA sponsors many didactic, research, and hands-on education sessions through meetings and online interactive courses. There are abundant opportunities for professional mentorship, collegial exchange of ideas and case review, and participation in society subcommittee missions. 

POSNA Goals

  • To foster, promote, support, augment, develop, and encourage investigative knowledge of pediatric orthopaedic surgery.
  • To develop and encourage methods of prevention of disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
  • To develop and encourage by teaching and education and by developing education materials.
  • To promote specialized training for medical personnel in pediatric orthopaedic surgery.
  • To foster, promote, support, augment, develop, and encourage education of non-medical personnel engaged in scientific endeavors related to the field of pediatric orthopaedic surgery.
  • To augment, develop, and encourage standardization of nomenclature and the evaluation of results.
  • To foster, promote, support, develop, and encourage charitable, scientific or literary purposes.
