Saul Bernstein, MD
1935 - 2010

Saul Bernstein was born on November 12, 1935 and passed away on April 19, 2010. He attended UCSF School of Medicine and took his orthopaedic residency at USC. He traveled to Sheffield, UK, for his fellowship. He was acting Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles for three years. He was on the faculty at USC, rising to the rank of Clinical Professor. He had an active practice in pediatric spinal deformity and pediatric orthopaedics.
 
Over his 42-year career, Saul taught hundreds of orthopaedic residents and cared for thousands of patients. He was committed to overseas service. He will be missed by his patients and by his colleagues.
 
Saul is survived by his wife of 52 years, Leslie, his three children Jon, Matt, and Wendy, and 11 grandchildren. His son, Matt is, of course, an active member of POSNA.
