The Child and Young Adult Hip Preservation Program, at Boston Children’s Hospital, offers a twelve–month fellowship in joint-preserving surgery of the adolescent and young adult hip. The fellowship includes clinical experience in analysis, and both primary and secondary surgical treatment, for a variety of mechanical hip disorders, including dysplasia, slipped epiphysis, Perthes disease, and other varieties of femoroacetabular impingement. There is extensive exposure to periacetabular osteotomy, surgical hip dislocation, proximal femoral osteotomy, and hip arthroscopy, with each of the surgeons in the Hip Program. The fellowship includes regularly scheduled conferences. A research experience is an integral part of the fellowship. The fellowship is open to orthopedic surgeons who are either board certified or board eligible, and have completed a certified orthopedic residency program. We are currently accepting applications for the 2025 – 2026 fellowship year. Please note that three letters of recommendation, CV, USMLE scores, and medical school transcript of grades will be required, along with the completed application.
