M3 Executive Search is proud to lead Gillette Children’s  search for a nationally recognized surgeon to serve as the Medical Director of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery.  Gillette Children’s is an independent, not-for-profit, hospital-based practice and tertiary referral center that specializes in treating children who have complex conditions, rare disorders, and traumatic injuries. 

Highlights include:

  • The division faculty consist of 15 fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons and 9 advanced practice providers. 
  • The division’s pediatric orthopedic surgeons are preeminent leaders in their field and include specialists from a range of clinical disciplines. 
  • Orthopedics and spine represent about 60% of Gillette’s total market share.
  • Research at Gillette consists of seven Research Programs led by a dyad team of a PhD clinical scientist and a dedicated physician lead, 9 research coordinators and associates, 3 engineers, and a yearly paid research fellow.
  • Gillette maintains a close relationship with the University of Minnesota (U of MN) Department of Orthopedic Surgery. 
  • Candidates will have a leadership title at Gillette and will be eligible for a faculty title and rank at UM.
  • Gillette’s James R. Gage Center for Gait & Motion analysis is a preeminent gait center for research and clinical care.

Gillette is searching for a dynamic, collaborative Medical Director.  Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the strategy and day-to-day oversight of the Division, ensuring alignment with the goals and objectives of the organization. 
  • Coordinate and develop of orthopedic services at Gillette’s St. Paul Hospital, as well as all clinic locations. 
  • Continue the passionate pursuit of the educational mission of the division, including the training of residents from the University of Minnesota, Henry Ford Medical Center, and the Mayo Clinic. 
  • Collaborate for operational effectiveness, promote the development and well-being of providers, and support a culture of safety.
  • Foster discovery by promoting & integrating Research and Translation to improve patient care into strategic initiatives.
  • Establish sound relationships with local, greater metro, rural and out of state providers, to advance the mission of Gillette and identify community partnerships. 
  • Collaborate with dyad administrative partner to maintain a financially efficient section through optimizing revenue, and management of expenses. 
  • Recruit and ensure ongoing training and development of physicians.  Provide mentorship of newly hired physicians and established physicians.
