2020 Annual Meeting Canceled
Consistent with the guidance being provided by public health officials, POSNA is committed to reducing the spread of the virus and therefore feels that it is necessary to cancel the meeting.
Dear POSNA Members,
It is with great disappointment that I announce the cancellation of the POSNA 2020 Annual Meeting in San Diego. We explored many options, including rescheduling at a later time. Unfortunately, we were unable to identify a satisfactory date. We have monitored the situation daily through the COVID-19 outbreak. Our most important priority is the health and safety of our members and others who would be participating in the meeting. Consistent with the guidance being provided by public health officials, POSNA is committed to reducing the spread of the virus and therefore feels that it is necessary to cancel the meeting.
The annual meeting is the highlight of the POSNA year. The program committee of Jeff Martus (Chair), Woody Sankar, Michelle Caird, and Matt Oetgen have organized an outstanding scientific program and are continuing with efforts to make much of the educational material available to our members. Additional communication will be sent to the membership once the arrangements are in place. We are also working on a process for managing registration fees. The Hilton San Diego Bayfront will cancel room reservations and individual deposits will be refunded.
On behalf of POSNA, thank you for your understanding. This has been an extremely difficult time that has resulted in significant hardship throughout the world. Many of you are actively engaged in the public health initiatives of your communities. We wish you success in your efforts and personal well-being as you face the many challenges presented by this pandemic.
