I helped to design this mask with a local LA based company, Hedley and Bennett. The key is that it has a pocket for a filter in between the cloth layers. We have found the ideal material for a filter is Halyard H600 sterilization wrap that normally is used for for sterilizing instrument trays. They can donate the masks to your facility to use if you have a need. I wouldn't use this in the OR or ICU over a surgical mask, but I think it is a good tool for other clinical areas like your outpatient clinic or inpatient floor. Hope that helps!
